On a Foggy Winter morning while driving along the Huon River, Franklin Tasmania, my husband took a shot of a marvellous old wreck.  The photograph struck a chord and years later it seemed the painting was bursting to come out.  I wanted to capture this feeling of the misty dawn, the light, the river that enveloped the wreck almost bidding it to rest back into mother earth. The Belle Brandon has a special story - She is now a memory on the parchment, as two years later the ship was dismantled and is no more. However her story is part of the fabric of early pioneers along the Huon River.
